For the Fall 2009 program, Art & Architecture,  Platform Art, Inc. has initiated a collaboration that will change the face of our community.   The USF School of the Arts, Architecture Department, will partner with the City of Lakeland's Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) to have their (USF) students design modular, affordable, LEED homes for the Parker Street neighborhood in Lakeland. 

The designs must be incorporated into, and compliment the historic bungalows in the neighborhood.   The selected design will be offered for bid to regional architectural firms, thus stimulating our economy and changing the face of our city.  The homes will be identified with a plaque designating them as a "Platform House".  

This project is only one example of the creative community partnerships Platform Art, Inc. facilitates through the cultural arts.  There is no other cultural arts organization in Polk County so engaged and responsive to the community.
